During my 25+ year career, I’ve worked on brand identity to large-scale event productions, with most of my experience with Taco Bell in-house creative.
I started as a designer and advanced to become creative director overseeing internal communications. The work was focused on building brand identity with our core audiences, both internal and external. That meant we touched everything imaginable in terms of project variety. Ask me, I’ve probably worked on it.
My greatest strength is building and leading teams. I truly enjoy bringing the best out of people and watching them grow towards their full potential. When teams are happy, the work speaks for itself.
Outside of the Bell, I’ve continued to work on small scale branding and design projects. I’m passionate about event production due to it’s immersive nature. I’m inspired by conventions, exhibits, concerts, shows, theme parks and any experience I can share with my family.
Here’s what I do best:
Team Building
Extensive experience forming and leading creative teams in the studio setting as well as onsite support for events.
Collaboration
The best work comes from close partnerships with subject matter experts. Curiosity and continual learning is important.
Event Graphics
From invitations to final presentations, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing creative vision come to life on stage.
Brand Identity
This goes without saying, everything we do today is in service of creating brand equity.
Information Design
The more complicated the content, the better. Sorting and visually organizing material is my strong suit.
Dying art? Perhaps. There’s less of it, for sure, but you still need experts in the field.
I was born in Seattle to parents who immigrated from Japan. I have lived in Japan, France and in the United States, La Mirada, Louisville, New York City, San Francisco, Costa Mesa and Irvine. I call Southern California my home where I currently live with my husband and two daughters.
The experiences I’ve collected from each place of residence around the globe have shaped my creative perspective. Culturally I consider myself somewhere between Japanese and American. I strive to take the best of each world and teach my daughters to have a deep understanding of both so that they can grow to become compassionate adults.
